Brad Armstrong

Exclusive Director Next Previous

Wicked’s most acclaimed original feature of the last year, veteran director Brad Armstrong’s “The Preacher's Daughter,” swept the AVN Awards Show with ease, earning the gifted filmmaker a trifecta of top honors: Best Director - Feature, Best Screenplay, and Best Feature Drama.

An intensely powerful coming-of-age drama that explores and shatters sexual boundaries, "The Preacher's Daughter" followed the same wildly successful trajectory as Armstrong’s previous mega-production, “Underworld.” A darkly erotic fantasia starring three-time AVN Best Actress and Wicked Girl jessica drake, "Underworld" received Best Feature honors from AVN, XBIZ and the XRCO. In addition to Best Feature, AVN awarded the production trophies for Movie of the Year, Best Drama, Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Packaging and Best Screenplay.  Thanks to projects this ambitious in both theme and scope, the last two years represent a true personal best for the only feature director who routinely writes, directs, designs and stars in his own movies.

The groundwork for this formidable track record can be traced back to Armstrong's days as an in-demand adult film actor. After self-financing his first production, he met Wicked Pictures Owner Steve Orenstein at the East Coast Video Show. Impressed with his talent and vision, Orenstein signed him to contract in 1996.

From the start, Armstrong was clearly a filmmaker to watch, thanks to titles like "Conquest," "Flashpoint," "Hell on Heels," and "Exile.” His 2000 classic "Dream Quest" was the first adult title in history to see a simultaneous release in both VHS and DVD formats, while "Euphoria" ruled the 2002 AVN and AFW Awards, winning Best Feature, Best Director, and Best Actress from both. It also won Video of the Year at the XRCO Awards, making it the first title in adult entertainment history to win Best Video from all three voting bodies. The following year saw Armstrong’s "Falling from Grace" receiving ten AVN noms, including Best Feature and Best Actress, as well as winning two: Best Actor (Armstrong), and Best Screenplay.

As gifted in art direction and screenwriting as he is in filmmaking, Brad’s unique skills have shined in virtually every genre, including comedy, adventure, science fiction and, most recently, relationship-oriented dramas. His cinematic legacy includes some of the most acclaimed productions in Wicked's history: "Fluff & Fold," "The Collector," "Fallen," "Coming Home," "Eternity," "Manhunters," "2040," "Countdown," "Men In Black: A Hardcore Parody" and the hit adult musical spoof "The Rocki Whore Picture Show: A Hardcore Parody."

As seen in such productions as his mainstream crossover success “Magic Mike XXXL: A Hardcore Parody” and the gritty suspense drama “Starmaker,” this gifted filmmaker is a unique visual stylist with a complete mastery of his storytelling skills.  As Wicked's Orenstein notes, “Brad has been exclusive with Wicked for over nineteen years and has won more awards than we can count during that time for his stand out movies. Films like 'Aftermath' and 'Starmaker,' his latest blockbuster, are great stories for women and couples with fantastic acting, writing, and production values. I can’t wait to see what he does for us next.”
